Becoming a Certified Impaakt Rater
Following the webinar, you’ll access the Rating Library, your primary resource for understanding impact evaluation. This library provides clear guidelines on assessing and rating the materiality of a company’s impact across various topics, such as climate change or workplace safety. Here, you will learn essential distinctions like inputs vs. outputs vs. impact and actual vs. potential impact. Mastering these differences is crucial for effectively rating the long-term effects of corporate actions on society and the environment, rather than merely their immediate outputs.
Following the webinar, you’ll access the Rating Library, your primary resource for understanding impact evaluation. Mastering these differences is crucial for effectively rating the long-term effects of corporate actions on society and the environment, rather than merely their immediate outputs.
Once you are familiar with the Rating Library, you will dive into the impact rating process. This involves evaluating two primary dimensions: value (positive or negative outcomes) and severity (the significance of the impact, which encompasses scale, scope, and persistence). The more severe the impact, the more material it is for the company being assessed.
After completing the training and gaining a solid understanding of the rating process, you will take a certification exam to apply the knowledge you’ve acquired. You have 3 tries to get a score of at least 70/100. For your information, you can pass the exam whenever it suits you best, there is no time constraint.
To access your exam, go to your profile, select “My Training Space” and click on “Take the Rater’s entry exam“. In case you can’t find it, go to “My Training Space” section, scroll down to “Already taking a training? Let us know by clicking here”, click “here“, then select “Impact Rater Training” and “Add training“.
After passing the exam, you need to rate 30 analyses on our platform. You can choose articles based on SDGs, topics, or companies that interest you. While there’s no time limit, we recommend completing these ratings within two weeks of passing the exam to maintain quality. Keep in mind that an AI algorithm monitors your assessments to spot and disregard biased or negligent ratings. These ratings are deleted and the rater might be banned from the platform.
Finally, Impaakt certifies raters every Friday afternoon CET. Once you meet all criteria, you’ll receive an email with your official Impact Rater Certificate.
As a CIR, your journey continues beyond certification. You are now invited to participate in rating campaigns, gain specific industry and SDG badges, etc. Make sure to check Section 5 to explore what awaits you.
